Who manages the airport?
75% of the grounds of Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne airport are located in Anglet and 25% in Biarritz.
It was built in the 50's to serve the area covering the southern part of the Landes and entire Pyrénées Atlantiques provinces, and also a part of the Guipuzcoa province in the Spanish Basque country.
Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne Airport is run by a special governing board (Syndicat Mixte) of members from the Muncipal Councils of Anglet, Bayonne, Biarritz and St Jean-de-Luz, the local Country Councils of the Landes and Pyrénées Atlantiques provinces and the Bayonne Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Involving all these key local administration players shows just how determined we are in our policy to place the BAB Airport at the heart of the region's future economic development.
At the moment, the President is Senator Didier Borotra, Mayor of Biarritz.
